Unsung Heroes

Episode 164: Twisted Sister – Gettin’ the Band Back to Glittah

Mostly remembered for their iconic 80’s music videos rebelling against the man, Twisted Sister became a hero to underdogs all over. But they are also so much more. A band with a long and storied career, it took them years to get a record contract, but applying the eyeshadow came naturally. They dressed in outrageous clothes and played loud and hard so that everyone saw how little they cared about your opinion. The only thing they cared about is that you went as hard as they did. Hear this tale about how a band of misfits came to rule the world with their music and unconventional look.

  1. Greetings from – of all places – Serbia. 🙂

    Love the podcast! Typing this while listening to the new Death episode… sounds great so far.

    Just wanted to say, Queensryche came up in the TS ep. They are much closer to something like Iron Maiden or Dream Theater than to Quiet Riot and are actually pretty great, at least up to a point, like most bands who have gone on for decades.

    Anyway, what I’m saying is, please, consider doing an episode on Queensryche:

    1) I genuinely think you might like the music;
    2) there’s a story there; oh boy, is there a story. 😀

    So, next time, the metal month comes along, my humble suggestion is, try Queensryche.

    Keep up the good work! 🙂

    • Thank you so much for the kind words, Alex! Glad to hear that you’ve been enjoying what we got going on.
      And don’t you worry, Queensryche is definitely on our radar. From the little we know this far, we couldn’t agree more, there is very much a story there! 😁
