Known for her powerful vocals in the group the Mamas and the Papas, Mama Cass is one of the overlooked women in rock. In fact, don’t call her mama, she didn’t like it. We tell her tale, how she used her sharp wit and charisma to get her foot into the door of the music world, despite it wanting nothing to do with a fat woman. We rage over har unfair treatment and sympathize with her many efforts to lose weight and fit into a society that didn’t deserve her. But at the end of it all, she needs to be heralded or her amazing voice and the contributions she could’ve given if only she were still around today.
